Brick Pointing & Masonry Work

KW Construction restores the strength and appearance of masonry envelopes through precise brick replacement, color-matched repointing, and crack remediation. Our craft crews match units, textures, and mortar profiles to maintain architectural continuity while stopping water infiltration at its source.

From localized stretcher repairs to multi-elevation campaigns, we address movement joints, shelf angles, lintels, and ties to stabilize the wall system. We work cleanly around occupied buildings, coordinating access, debris control, and QA inspections for durable, code-compliant results.

What this includes

Condition mapping, mortar analysis, and on-site mockups for color/finish approval.
Rake-out to proper depth, color-matched mortar, tooling, and curing controls.
Unit replacement, dutchman repairs, crack stitching, and anchorage upgrades.
Lintel/shelf-angle prep, anti-corrosion coatings, flashings, and weeps for drainage.

How do you match the existing brick and mortar?

We sample on site, test for sand/aggregate and pigment, and create mockups so owners approve color and tooling before production.

Can repointing fix leaks by itself?

Often yes—failed joints are a common leak path. We also assess flashings, weeps, and penetrations to address related sources.

Will grinding damage the brick?

No—our crews use controlled rake-out to specified depths and avoid high-RPM disc grinding that can burn or chip units.

How long does repointing last?

With proper materials and detailing, joints typically last 20–30 years, assuming routine maintenance and stable adjacent details.
