Sidewalk Repair

KW Construction repairs and replaces NYC sidewalks to eliminate hazards, stop water intrusion, and meet DOT/Local Law requirements. We handle violations from inspection to sign-off, coordinate permits and traffic control, and stage work to maintain safe pedestrian access around occupied buildings.

From single flag replacements to full frontage reconstructions, we correct settlement, heave, and tree-root damage; upgrade sub-base and drainage; and finish surfaces to clean, even tolerances. Our crews work quickly and neatly, minimizing dust, noise, and disruption.

What this includes

Site assessment, permit filing, compliant repairs, and sign-off coordination.
Removal of failed flags, new compacted base, reinforcement where required.
Proper slopes, control/expansion joints, broom finish, ADA bevels/ramps.
Root-friendly solutions, utility cover resets, drainage and waterproofing interfaces.

Do you handle DOT permits and inspections?

Yes. We file permits, schedule inspections, and close out violations through to sign-off.

Can you work around trees without harming roots?

We use root bridges, adjustable bases, and layout tweaks to protect trees while restoring a level walking surface.

How long before the sidewalk can be used?

Most pours can accept light foot traffic within 24–48 hours, with full cure in ~7 days (weather dependent).

What causes sidewalks to crack again?

Poor sub-base, inadequate joints, drainage issues, or root pressure. We address these in the design so repairs last.
